How can one go wrong if you used your inheritance to build a sports club made of durable and economical pre-engineered metal and steel structures?  That is what exactly my friend Lloyd wisely did out of the money they received;  now that they were orphaned after both his parents perished in a sea mishap.   To keep their memories alive, Lloyd and his siblings decided to have the old tennis and badminton court which their dad maintained for so many years, torn down to give way to a modern, spacious, durable recreational club.  To keep up with modern times and having been influenced of left and right sprouting like mushrooms steel buildings in Canada, they wasted no time in consulting a friend who referred them to Olympia Steel Buildings company.   Much to their amazement, their dream of a  modern building materialized in no time at all.

They are truly proud of what they did, their business is making waves, old and new clients continue to patronize their club because of it’s modern structures, facilities and good service.

Polaris Accessories

Richie’s name says it all because he was born with the proverbial “silver spoon” on his mouth and most of us his High School classmates can’t help but feel inadequate and inferior besides him.   He was an only child and can get away with all his caprices and more so now that he inherited his family’s real estate business.

One evening that we had our batchmate get together in his posh villa, he showed us his newly acquired ATV fully loaded with Polaris Accessories.   So, we went home talking about him again and his new ATV.

Kayaking and snorkeling for the first time

Last month’s out of town trip was by far the best family bonding moments we had because our activities allowed us to interact more with one another unlike the ones we had when we had our Asian trips, which was centered mainly with visits to  theme parks and shopping.

For a change, we decided to travel locally to explore the beauty of our own country for admittedly, we have not visited yet most scenic spots in our country.  The Philippine Tourism Department’s slogan is “let’s not be strangers in our own land (huwag maging dayuhan sa sariling bayan) made quite an impact to our parents that the earlier plan to go to Singapore was instead changed in favor of Davao and Batangas and to some nearby provinces.

Alright, at first we did not like the idea because our mind was already set in going to Singapore, however when we reached Davao City, indeed, it was a paradise on it’s own and the place has lot of things to offer- fun, thrilling adventure, new experience.  Some says that those places are only for tourists because the package are pricey but we’ve got our money’ s worth.  Even my mom (being our financier) who has this  habit to mentally compute and calculate every cents coming out of her wallet did not complained at all.   She was the one who egged us to try kayaking and snorkeling although it is quite expensive for an hour activity but she was evidently happy and excited to let us try it so we did!

It was a new experience… first time to have tried kayaking and snorkeling!  However, we got sunburned but it’s alright… Afterall, we were there to really enjoy the water!

Angry bird Ipad 2 cover

Yesterday, I ran errands and went downtown to look for a memory card reader.  I was so amazed how big the mall is and with wide array of wares to choose from.  Shopping is fun if we have money to spend!

I was engrossed in an accessories shop when I spent quite sometime after I saw Angry bird Ipad 2 protective case.  Actually only few specialized shops have available products because it is still on its introductory phase  but no doubt in the weeks to come, Angry bird products will flood the market with the growing popularity of Angry bird game…

So, I took the opportunity to be ahead of my friends of having a case to protect my precious Ipad from bumps and dents of everyday use.  And knowing that not long after ,cheap imitations will be making brisk business.

River rafting adventure

Before I finally nodded yes  to join in a river rafting adventure in Davao City-island of Mindanao, I consulted Wikipedia and accordingly “Rafting or white water rafting is a challenging recreational activity using an inflatable raft to navigate a river or other bodies of water. Though, I became hesitant from what I’ve read and with videos and pictures I’ve seen, I joined anyway to conquer the building up fear in me.  It is such a shame for me to back out upon seeing my sister all prepared to raft.  We were assured that experienced guides and professional life guards will join us.

Before the onset of the real thrill, we were asked to sign a waiver since it is considered as an extreme sports (whoa.. that made me a bit nervous!) , then we received our helmets and life vests.  We were gathered in a circle for initial rafting orientations and we were transported to the starting point  for the 13 km of adrenaline rush with more than 15 rapids.   There we had another basic rafting orientation like we were taught on how to put on our life vests, the basic rafting techniques and different rafting lingos we will hear as instructions.

I can’t really describe the exhilarating fun we  had!

It was more than 3 hours of braving the waters and the sun thus, we were really exhausted and famished so at the end of the activity, lunch served were gone instantly.  The experience was one for the books!   Helmets off and high five to our guide Mr. Onin for one great rafting experience!

We subscribed to Pay Per View (PPV) to watch the latest boxing bout of Pacquaio with Mosley last May 7  and no regrets that we did so because we watched it live in the comforts of our home.   Pacquiao won by unanimous decision!  I am and will always  be a fan of Manny Pacquaio.  With such speed and hard hitting south paw, undoubtedly his opponents will be having a hard time.

It is a running joke in the neighborhood that if you want to get rich fast, take boxing seriously.   Added to that , it is certain that you will end up with a beautiful lady for a wife….  Currently, Jinkee (Manny’s wife) is  a beauty clinic endorser.. the Belo Medical group… and this wife of the world’s pound by pound champion took by heart a complete make-over.  I’ve read that she is endorsing Body Tite that contoured her body, arms and legs  and it was a complete make-over… complete liposuction, dermas fillers, eyebag removal, nose job.. what else… Vanity…

Hunky Willy is in town….

A lot of oohhhhhhs and ahhhhhh’s elicited from amongst the crowd when this tall, athletic guy arrived at our High School reunion. I was among the group of  men on the sideline who can’t help but just looked from afar and also admired how this hunk of a man achieved that dream body.   My mind wandered far that only if I had not faltered on my regular work out  then I might be at par with that guy who turned out to be  Willy – our batch mate.   Surprisingly, he is far from the weakling and shy Willy we had known before and when finally we had the chance to talk, I noticed how confident he is and super mighty proud to be the center of attention.

I’ve learned that he was part of the national rowing team who competed in Thailand last year and he was quick to share that their rigid trainings are enhanced with regular use of muscle stimulation which obviously helped them achieved better performance and endurance in every competition.  Our conversation was cut short when goggling and giggling ladies can’t help to have pictures taken with him.

An instant celebrity huh!  (I am not bitter..lol).. I’ll wait for my hunk days to come….
