Center of destruction!

An invitation to a debut party of Dianne made me worried sick about the acne beginning to “infest” my face again.  Argggghhh… just when I thought it is gone forever and had successfully evacuated from my face but now it is beginning to show up again.   It was so timely for a very special occasion where I was invited to be the debutantes escort for the night.  Of course, knowing both of  us will be the center of attraction made me frantically asked for help fast.   For sure, if the stubborn acne stays, I will be the center of destruction and it might affect my mood with scary thoughts that guests will be talking how awful I look.

My dermatologist once again is up for a big battle with my acne.  Her expertise will be put to test again.   Actually, she had proven how experienced she is when she had successfully treated me.  I still have to find out what triggered my acne.   I partly blamed it for my staying up late and due to sleepiness, oftentimes, I tend to forget to do the routine cleaning, toning and moisturizing ritual.

So now, I am feeling sorry for such neglect and I will be even more sorry if I will show up in the party being the center of destruction! So, I have a lot of sessions to go through with my derma before the big day.    I am keeping my fingers crossed!

Acme thread

School projects oftentimes becomes a nightmare if you don’t have the right resources and materials and tools to have your work done swiftly to be able to beat the deadline of submission or else you will receive incomplete grade.   For a graduating student like me, I can’t afford to get such grade that will compromise my chance to make it to the list of candidates for graduation.

So, even if you really detest costly and hard to do projects, my team mates and I worked hard to assemble a robot out of refrigerator parts and we started by of course, buying an old refrigerator from a junk shop dealer and prepared all necessary tools and materials.   What helped us stitched everything into proper places are working tools like clamps and different sets of acme thread rods.

We can’t be any happier because the project made it in the nick of time and a grade fair enough for me to announce to my parents that they have to prepare for my graduation.

Thank you Acme thread!

Tumbling composter

When I came to visit my grand mom, I was sad to see her sick and weak to mobilize after being hospitalized for 3 days.  I was told she has gallstones and is under medication.   Surprisingly,  it was only last summer that she joined us for an out of town trip  and she was full of life and very excited while visiting  the Orchids Garden.   There was not even a single trace of her impending  illness.  What do you expect?   She was  overwhelmed with the green surrounding and she was all over the place!

Being a green thumbed herself,  gardening is one of her fave hobby.  And the garden tour energized her no end.  Understandably, she was very much in awe with every plants she sees as she hopped from one green house to the other.  I came looking for her when I’ve  lost sight of her and seemingly got lost among the tall flowering plants.  She is 78 years old and mom told me to be responsible in assisting her and  I almost over reacted when I thought of her getting lost.

Anyway, after getting a bit worried, there,  I’ve found her conversing with gardeners busily cultivating the rich and fertile soils in the area.   She was like a small inquisitive child asking about the tumbling composter parked just under a big tree , and her “instant friends” told her that they are using it to do their own compost.   The abundance of organic fertilizers really improved their soil that yielded healthy plants.  It seemed my grandmom was interested so she asked me to browse the web for composter.  Have I not lead her away for lunch, for sure she will be asking too many questions about gardening.

my grandmom was the one in blue…. lost?

I promised to take her to a visit to another garden so hopefully she is well by then.

cutting tools

My friend Jack and his group were tasked to put up a stage for our conference, them, being part of the Logistics committee.  Amazingly, it was done in less than half a day!   Though it was hastily done , sturdy materials were used and quality of work was not compromised.  As I was assigned to document the preparation for the event so, I stood watch and photo shoot while they were at work.  I’ve seen how modular steel frames were cut accordingly using quality cutting tools which helped them finished their work earlier.  I only went to the other room to check the Food Committee busily setting up long tables and after taking few shots, I went back again  to Jack’s group and I was surprised that they were already laying the carpet as final step and the stage was all done in no time at all the stage and it was very much  ready for the next day’s event.

work..work..work

cutting tools.. the hero

undershot… modular steel frames

almost done

That’s how useful and dependable cutting tools are and I would definitely tell my dad to invest on a complete set of carpentry tools because my mom never run out of things for our handy dad to do in the house.    Jack and his group received compliments for the stage and back drop they painstakingly designed.

Deserving!
