Cleopatras Choice essential oil

We had the opportunity to visit the newly built house of a friend who came all the way from New York to grace the much awaited housewarming.  She referred to her little mansion as a product of her “blood, sweat and tears”  and it is really a known fact that Marissa, single handedly worked to have her dream house built.   She poured all the nicest and choicest furniture and decorations she can lavishly afford.   The bedrooms and bathrooms smelled heavenly.   Curiously, the girls in our group peeked in the bathroom and they said they’ve found the secret of that scent that enveloped the room.  Apparently, Marissa has been using Cleopatras Choice essential oil especially the lavender essence which has a calming and relaxing effect that can even send you to sleep even you are in the bathroom.

Yes, would you tell that we were exaggerating when we said we wanted a sleep over in Marissa’s place?

Strawberry nails

Strawberry nails caused it all!  I was summoned to the dean’s office concerning my sister Marie who along with her classmates seemingly turned their Mac Lab (computer room) into a nail art salon?  Instead of accomplishing their seat work, they busily worked on their nails and created strawberry designs much to their delight but ruined their moment because they were caught by their professor who showed up out of nowhere.   My sister confessed that she was  tempted to join her other girl friends out of fascination for nail art.

She needs to do a lot of explaining to Mom and Dad because I was told that this matter will be brought to their attention too…

Mom’s jewels

Countless of times did I hear mom bragged to her friends that we, her children are her only treasures!   We are her shining jewels!  I have high praises for her for keeping us grounded and taught to good spirited and humble children of hers.   I love to talk about my mom and I have written mostly about her because she is an inspiration.. not because I was referred to as “mama’s boy”.

My mom is simple but with good fashion sense.   Her indulgences (aside from food- peace Mom!) are watches and gold jewelries.  Her treasure box yielded gold which she collected as investment.  She, along with our dad are overseas workers in Saudi Arabia for more than 2 decades.  The place boast of largest oil reserves and the world’s second largest oil exporter and gold reserves too.

I know that it will serve her well when emergency arise (heaven forbids). It will peg high value  when pawned…lol.

Summer get up

Now I understand why my sister is bent in her daily work-out and would even go to great lengths of almost starving herself  which is an unhealthy way of losing weight.  It prompted me  to write to our mom and dad about it.  We’ve learned that she wanted to get in shape fast because the bikinis and swimsuits season is now on.  Such vanity!  She doesn’t want to be left out when all of her friends are already ready for the skimpy wear while she is still struggling to get the perfect curves.  So that is the reason why she is subjecting herself to crash diets.

An aunt came to the rescue patiently explained to her that her goal to reach the weight she hopes for is now unrealistic because indeed summer already ushered in.   Too short a time for such big change and Aunt Lynne made her understand that there are flattering swimwear designed for any body type and created to hide flaws.  Just last night, she accompanied my sister to the mall to look for a perfect wear for her and later on, came back with a smiling sister of mine.  Apparently, she found one  to  wear soon and the best part of it all is that she had it free!   Of course, our ever generous Aunt Lynne paid for it.

Girls know better which will suit them fine.   While me, I know how to appreciate girls who look good in bikinis!

Plus size dresses

I warned my cousin to stop her non sense dieting because it won’t work out.     The Junior Senior Prom is almost 2 weeks away and her goal is to lose weight before the big night to fit into that lovely evening gown that she wanted so much Actually, I am not discouraging her but the bitter truth is that her goal is unrealistic knowing that she has been carrying those extra load since she was a little girl.

I’ve seen her starving herself to death, eating only crackers and black coffee everyday and it is very unhealthy.   I can understand that she is cranky and a certified grumpy queen these days because of her desire to fight her food craving and hunger pangs.   She might lose some pounds but her target dress will not really fit.

The other day, I had the chance to have a serious pep talk with her and she listened intently on how I made her realize that her time is very limited to be able to wear the sexy gown she wanted.  I then adviced her that there are fashionable  plus size dresses which are available on line which she can browsed on and she will not be disappointed.

Last night, I received an ecstatic call from cousin Louise bragging about her plus size gown purchased online.  The most important thing is that she promised that from now on, she will live a healthy life.

Precious is one fashionable lady in our neighborhood who can get away with any get up and the girls can’t help but feel intimidated with her fashion sense.  She is a classy lady and nobody would ever suspect that some of her outfits were just bought from thrift and rummage shops.  But  because she knows how to carry it with style and grace, who would have thought that most of her accessories like those replica sunglasses she alternately wear  are only  imitation but can easily pass for original and branded ones?

Precious is precious!  She is smart because she doesn’t need to buy expensive pairs when she can get away with cheap sunglasses but still looks she is wearing the real brand.   Well, that is what we call smart dresser!

Yay… facial hair

A friend set me up on a blind and alright I’ve met this petite, charming lady the other week but the sight and thought of her facial hair is very disturbing.   Noticeably prominent hair are on her chin, sides of her face and the upper lip, is giving me an awkward thought of how can I stand to be super extra sweet to a girl who have a mustache.

In my heart, I wanted to know her more because I found  her interesting during our initial meeting but such a turn off when we met up close, I can’t help looking at her face and seeing those unsightly hair.  She should meet my sister who by all means opted for laser facial hair removal instead of tweezing or plucking them.

I wanted to ask her out again but I am afraid that her facial hair would disturbed me no end and knowing me as a straightforward guy, I might not be able to resist asking her if she has hormonal growth imbalances.   For sure, it would be a minus points for me.

Oh dear, I am torn between knowing her better vs. her unsightly facial hair….

Clawfoot tubs

Missy is a classy, elegant, gorgeous lady  in our neighborhood who is  living just across the street in a white house with beautiful garden and a sprawling swimming pool.   Neighbors can’t help but speculate that she might be the likes of the legendary Cleopatra who in history has always said that she did use milk baths during her time.  Thus, milk bath is associated with rich women.  And everytime our snooping neighbors see Missy, she intrigued them no end thus, make them conclude that her smooth, white and silky skin is the result of her soaking in elegant clawfoot tubs full of milk and honey just like what Cleopatra did in her olden times.  She was famous for her beautiful skin  allegedly because of her beauty rituals of bathing in fresh milk.  However, there is no ancient source to support that she ever did so but I remember mom told me that in one movie  (huh ! forgot the title), she was shown bathing in milk.

Nowadays, it is a common practice to have milk baths especially those who have money to buy gallons of fresh milk.   But one thing for sure, our neighbor Missy’s advantage to Cleopatra is that she has around 2 classy clawfoot tubs which is unheard of during her time.  How did we know about the tubs?   Her cleaning lady raved about it in one of her mindless conversation with our group.

Our neighbors should better order a dozen for themselves…. (peace!)

36″-25″-36″ figure is a thing of the past..

My “stubborn” mom is again having renewed interest in miracle diets which she hoped to bring back her old figure of 36″-25″36″.  But haven’t she realized that at her age of 51 and  having given birth to us her 3 children, it is next to impossible??  I have bore witnessed to her endless quest to reduce her weight.  She tried tae-bo, yoga, aerobics and gym … quite successful because she initially she lost few pounds but when she stopped the program, it was disastrous… she gained more than she have lost!  She also have tried the “wonder” drugs… fad diets, diet pills, slimming tea but to no avail.   Dad supported her whims.. treadmill, stationary bike, sauna suit, portable sauna.. hmmm.. what else?   The only thing she have not tried yet is interventional… good that she is afraid of surgery for if not, I guess she will also tried liposuction, gastric staple (?)… errr.. alien sounding procedures to me.

Mom is not obese but vanity is eating her up… her weight is about 10 kilos heavier (she is about 65 kilos now ) but to my Dad she looked alright but she would not believe us even though we told her many times that she is not that fat.  The latest that I’ve heard was she is trying the last fad – the slimming coffee!   She would give me feedback that the pounds are slowly and steadily climbing down the scales just by drinking coffee alone…

Alright, I will give her the benefit of the doubt.   We will see if this time her fats will be melted away by drinking coffee.  As long as she is happy and it will not jeopardize her health… go Mom… I know that there will come a time that you will realize that the 36″-25″36 figure is a thing of the past….

Stop dreaming will yah!  (lol)

I found out that she is using this.. I can’t say much about the product… actually I am not posting this to advertise or endorse.. it is only my Mom who can give testimonies about this (hopefully if she will lose weight).

Mission possible….

Our mission to enlighten the seemingly collapsing world of our friend Dan is very much underway with the cooperation of another classmate who is very much willing to give testimonies on how he survived his acne problems.  Tom swore to high heavens that he too was plagued with undesirable breakouts not only on his face but also on his chest.   And that he too came to a point that he was sick and tired of dealing with his problem but he did not give up because he was confident that he will soon find the best  acne remedy that will no longer extend his painful suffering.    That is why, when we asked his help, there was no second thoughts because how he wished Dan did not go into depression and into hiding.  He totally shut himself from friends for fear of rejection and ridicule.  And he will share his battle against acne and how he triumphed in the end…

This week.. off we go to Dan’s place.  Our mission is no longer impossible… but very possible….
