As I was channel surfing last night, I stumbled upon a movie re-run I’m not familiar with. I would’ve changed the channel already if it were not for the chase scene that was currently transpiring. Basically, there was this girl that was being chased by a sinister looking man through a shopping mall and it was clear that the following scenes would be exciting.

After a lot of running around, the girl was already at her limit so she decided to just blend in with the crowd to lose her pursuer. Thinking on her feet she fell in line at the checkout counter. It was evident that she has already lost her pursuer as she looked around. And then suddenly, as soon as she looked back at the girl by the counter the man appeared in front of her, surprising her.

It was at this time that she did something that really perplexed me. She pulled the barcode scanner from the counter, pointed it at the bad guy like a gun and pulled the trigger. The guy shrieked in pain as his face was projected with red light.

My eyes!

Taking the opportunity, the girl fled the scene leaving the man rolling on the floor, clearly in pain.

Darn, they should outlaw barcode scanners! It’s dangerous!
