Remember the street fighter movie made way back with Jean-Claude Van Damme in it? Yeah, the one with the altered plot, ultra-cheesy fight scenes, and the super long monologues. I kinda enjoyed it as a kid, but looking back from now, God, it’s terrible! This is what happens when you let people who are unfamiliar with the material to join in on the cooking.
Now, if you truly want a very good video game to movie adaptation, let the original creators do it! Or, as a second best option, you could place it in the hands of dedicated hardcore fans. People who know every nook and cranny of the game. People who take every detail and faithfully captures it on film.
Wanna know how such a film would turn out? Then you got to watch this!
The one you just watched is a fan-made film of Street Fighter by some very dedicated fans.
Talk about attention to detail. From costumes, to the moves, and even the final scene reminiscent from the Super Street Fighter II arcade opening sequence.
Now that’s something I would watch if ever it’s made into a full length feature film. Just as long as they don’t mess up. Don’t they dare!
