My uncle whom I have written about his heart problem and that he was rushed to an Emergency hospital due to shortness of breath, was admitted and his lab tests confirmed that he suffered mild heart attack due to smoking and poor lifestyle. For a week now after his hospital discharge, he has not lighted a stick yet as advised sternly by his attending physician. We believed that it would mean strong will to follow it because having smoked more than half of his life, it is not easy. Now, he is experiencing withdrawal symptoms.
His physician told my aunt to expect the following symptoms in the next couple of weeks like:
- craving to smoke
- headaches
- crankiness or irritability
- fatigue and insomia
- inability to concentrate
- tightness in the chest
True enough, those listed above are what my uncle has been complaining. He needs to exercise or call someone to talk to distract him from his cravings. He needs to focus more on something like he needs to go back to his painting now there will be an upcoming art exhibit and his painting is almost halfway done. However, uncle should not strain and stressed himself just so he can have a piece to submit.
We know that smoking cessation will be a struggle and a battle for him. Good luck to my aunt!
The name's Pol and I'm a guy who really loves to talk and rant. In this blog, I mostly talk about technology, gadgets and the internet, but there are times when I also dabble in other stuff like art, movies, comics, and video games.
