I have a lot of pet peeves. One of them has bothered me so much last night that I didn’t get any sleep at all.
It was a cold breezy night when I got to Job’s house. It was the night of little Mimi’s birthday celebration, Job’s daughter. He invited the whole gang to celebrate, adult style. No more kids, just friends around a table playing poker and drinking Coke until we reach stupor. It was more of a celebration of Job’s anniversary of being a daddy as he is the only one among our circle who has a kid.
After a night of laughter and a couple of rounds of Guitar Hero, we decided to call it a night. The others went home while I stayed over to stay for the night. It was my first time sleeping over at Job’s and it didn’t bother me at first. So there I was, at the sofa, with my feet raised up by the armrest when suddenly I heard the most annoying thing: A leaking water faucet.
Imagine you are in a room that is so quiet and the only thing you can hear is the continuously dripping water. It is annoying as hell! To remedy the situation, I set off and searched for the source of the sound. I checked the kitchen faucet, I checked the bathroom faucet, I checked everywhere where one can find a water faucet. Half an hour later, I finally gave up. I was already super tired that when I got back to my sofa bed, I immediately came back to sleep.
The next day I mentioned this to Job and he laughed as soon as I started explaining. He told me that what I was hearing wasn’t a water faucet at all! It was their digital wall clock that, instead of a ticking sound, makes a dripping sound! It was something that you don’t hear until the place is quiet.
How about that? I guess I won’t be having any sleepovers next time, eh? ~ Pol

The name's Pol and I'm a guy who really loves to talk and rant. In this blog, I mostly talk about technology, gadgets and the internet, but there are times when I also dabble in other stuff like art, movies, comics, and video games.
