Video games have continuously evolved over the past few years. From the ape like stature during the 8-bit era, it has now become something that can be likened to the complexity of humans that we know now.
The blue thing in the middle is supposed to be a dragon.
Nowadays, the industry has been so obsessed in making sure that everything looks lifelike. Almost every developer place great attention to detail. From the little nook and crannies of the cars in Gran Turismo 5. To the minute details of the hunting binoculars in COD: Black Ops.
This obsessive attention to detail coupled this with the newfound capability of current gen consoles to render lifelikeness, it’s almost as if video games were meant to go this route.
Although this is a good thing as it would make video games more immersive, I still pray that the industry won’t forget the thing that really matters. And that’s gameplay.
